Springy Flower

This little flower was created for a DIY on my podcast, Sticks and Stones. It’s a quick, easy and cute way to bring a little spring into your projects. (www.sticksandstonespodcast.wordpress.com)
Materials
Scraps of DK yarn. You can use other weights, but this will change the size of the flower.
Size 4.0mm crochet hook
Sewing needle
Button or bead for the center
Gauge is not important in this project.
Abbreviations
Sl st- slip stitch
sc- single crochet
ch- chain stitch
To make flower
Make a slip knot and ch 6 sts.
Sl st at the ends together to make a circle.
Sc through the center of circle 10x.
Working through the bottom leg of each st from round 1, sc 3x in each st. Repeat around (30 sts).
Ch 2.
Working around the vertical bars created from the legs of each st in the last round, sc 3x on each bar.
Sl st your yarn to the first sc of round 1. Pull through yarn and cut.
Sew button or bead in the center of the flower.
